We're beginning summer with mixed emotions--Sophia would happily keep going for the next 6 weeks instead of having a break. And she anticipates September with some remorse at the thought of her Reception teachers no longer being in her class. But she's already met and likes her Year 1 teacher, and she'll stay with the same children, including her best friend, so that will make adjusting in the autumn easier.
I'm looking forward to a break from making sure enough school uniform is clean/dry/ironed; plus daily lunchbox filling; and keeping up with homework, paperwork, and events at school.
Here's a peek at Open Day earlier this week, when Sophia showcased her work as we sat on the playground with her...
Wes reading, "At the Olympics..."
Sophia reading, "...people play football." [soccer]
Wes says, "You left out your 'l'."
Sophia replies, "I'll draw it at home."
Wes asks, "What's in the blue book?"
