SuperBo

The theme in Sophia's class has been "Let's Pretend...", so they've been learning fairy tales, making rocketships, and decorating super hero capes.

According to Sophia, the only difference between a normal person and a super hero is the cape--so, folks, here she is:  mild-mannered (we hope!) school girl by day/cape-wearing superheroine by night. ("Bo" is Sophia's nickname.)

At Grandma & Grandpa's

My parents moved to the UK a few months ago, and we're loving seeing family a couple of times a month, rather than once or twice a year.  This Thanksgiving we thank God that Grandma & Grandpa are living in their lovely house in Luton!

This train was the highlight of Alathea's time at parks near Grandma & Grandpa's house.
Alathea enjoyed going up and down this incline repeatedly.

"L-in'" It

Alathea finds blending two consonant sounds quite difficult. So, "bread" sounds like "bed" and "blue" sounds like "bue," etc.

Now we've noticed that in her effort to pronounce the blend in her favorite object, "blanket," she sometimes gets muddled about just where that "l" sound needs to go. So along with the usual "banket," we sometimes also get "banklet," or when she's REALLY trying hard, "blanklet." But every so often she does manage to say "blanket" properly, so it's just a matter of time--and bittersweet in some ways, when those quirky figures of toddler speech disappear forever.

She's Got the Look
