Tenth in Tuscany

We're celebrating our 10th anniversary at the end of June, and last week we got to spend a few days in Tuscany by ourselves, courtesy of my parents watching the girls and friends letting us use their flat in Florence --THANKS!

Stores on the Ponte Vecchio (bridge), Florence

Painting of the Last Judgment on the ceiling of the Duomo (domed cathedral), Florence
View from the top of the Duomo
Santa Croce church from the Duomo (tombs of Galileo, Machiavelli, Michelangelo here)
In Tuscany a lot of people hang their clothes to dry along the side of their houses.

Olive groves and vineyards in the Chianti region

Birthweekend

Birthday party Saturday, presents from friends at church Sunday, birthday Monday, plus the cake that never ends...what more could a 4-year-old ask for?
(Facebookers, see http://wbsenglish.blogspot.com to view the videos interspersed below)
Sophia and her friend decorate their party bags.

Daddy delivers the desired princess cake.
The girls enjoy cake and ice cream.

The jewelry was a big hit. Thanks, Janet!
Here was her reaction, Bry & Jamie...thanks!

Sophia had been looking forward to this moment for months--sitting in the chair next to her teacher and blowing out the "birthday train" candles at preschool.
Handing out birthday sweets to her classmates.

Thanks for the Thumbelina puzzle (and dresses), Grandma & Grandpa E!

Trying out her new armbands (floaties) in the bathtub. We will get to the pool soon, Sophia. I promise!
