Half-Term

Here are a few vignettes from last week at my parents' house, including Valentine's Day...
Action Chugger is a superhero train that can fly and Koko is a female train, both from Chuggington, a show the girls really like. They were gifts from the girls' admirer, Daddy.

Pair of Scalliwags

Yesterday at school was the end of a unit about treasure for Sophia, so the kids in her year came in dressed as pirates. During this half-term they've also gone on a treasure hunt, painted their own treasure box and made a necklace and coin to go in it, decorated parrots, and brought in a personal treasure to show their class (a princess dress, in Sophia's case).
Thanks to cousin Ben for sending us most of this gear from his pirate birthday party last year!

Of course anything big sister does, little sister wants to try...TRANSCRIPT OF END: a coin, a necklace, and beads (jewels)

Two Sides of the Coin

Sophia's been hoping all winter for enough snow to build something. After a very mild beginning, winter has finally come to us in force this February. Alathea had a contradictory relationship with the snow that fell last weekend--it looks nice, but she's not quite sure when experiencing it.
Alathea never moved again from the spot her feet stop in this video until I picked her up.
